The beaches of south Sardinia

Nora, Santa Margherita, Chia, Tuerredda, are beaches which are famous around the globe for their beauty, for the wilderness, white sand and emerald coloured water. These beaches can be easily reached by car from the B&B. Every beach has a free area and an area with beach clubs that provide sun-beds and beach umbrellas to rent, as well as providing numerous water sport activities.

History and Tradition

South Sardinian offers a large number of events and festivities throughout the year. During the first days of May, the festivity of Sant’Efisio, stops in Villa San Pietro to then continue towards Pula and Nora. There are numerous ‘sagre’ (local festivals) which are steeped in tradition with traditional folklore dances that will enable you to live the history of this land.

NORA – is an ancient city, built on the remains of pre-exisiting Nuragic settlements, of Phoenician foundations and successively Punic and Roman. It was the capital of the Noritani population. It is situated on a hill facing Pula, on the southern tip of Sardinia, west of Cagliari. It is today in the municipality of Pula and can be visited with a guide every day. In high season it is recommended to reserve tickets.

Activity or Relax?

Villa San Pietro is a perfect starting point for numerous open air activities. For the aficionados of trekking there are numerous walks that cross the mounts of the lower Sulcis between Villa San Pietro, Sarroch and Pula. A few kilometres away there is the town of Domus de Maria, where the forest of Is Cannoneris, considered Europe’s largest holly oak forest and where deer and mountain goats can be spotted. In the town of Chia, there is a spectacular path that takes one back in time: “Strada Romana” (Roman Road), that goes from Pinus Village climbing up to the tower of Chia with awesome views over the sea. It is also possible to go horse riding, or to organise a drive in a jeep, or for lovers of the open sea it is possible to rent a motor boat in the principle beach clubs of the entire coast.
